Lea Gardens is a unique collection of highly acclaimed rhododendrons, azaleas, kalmias, and other plants collected from the far corners of the world. The Gardens are sited on the remains of a medieval millstone quarry and cover an area of approximately 4 acres (1.6ha) on a wooded hillside. The excellent rock garden contains a huge variety of alpines with acers, dwarf conifers, heathers and spring bulbs.
As well as stunning gardens in a tranquil setting we also have the Tea Garden Cafe - a place for a refreshing cup of traditional Yorkshire Tea, speciality coffee, locally produced ice-cream or a fantastic lunch using only the finest of ingredients from local suppliers.
Lea Gardens is a destination day out in itself as well as a popular stop off point for hardened ramblers and weary walkers. The keen gardener is also able to take a little part of Lea Gardens home with them by visiting our greenhouse where we have a variety of plants available for sale. If you are not able to make it to see us then see our Plant List page and we may be able to send them to you!
The Tye family, colleagues and friends look forward in welcoming you very soon in this, our 50th Anniversary Year.
Lea Gardens & the Tea Garden Cafe is open from 10.00am - 5.00pm daily throughout the year
